MISSION AND PROGRAMS:

LEGACY ACADEMY'S mission is to serve children, families, staff and communities in a manner that positively impacts their lives. Legacy is guided by the belief that all children have a right to meet their potential by participating in quality early care and education opportunities that support development across each learning domain - physical, cognitive, social and emotional. Legacy provides programs for children ages six weeks to 12 years, plus before and after school care, with programs that set the standard for early childhood care and education. They have developed their own copyrighted curriculum, Framework For Their Future®, which is implemented in all schools.

THE LEGACY MANAGEMENT TEAM :

Each member of the Legacy Academy management team offers specialized expertise that combine to provide the highest level of executive leadership, encompassing early childhood education, human resources, risk management, finance and construction. A legacy of quality in early childhood care and education. LEGACY ACADEMY was and still is the answer Frank and Melissa Turner were looking for when they wondered how they could educate their two young children, provide for their future, and serve their community. Frank and Melissa opened the first Legacy Academy School in Oakwood, Georgia in 1997. Their intentions were to own a couple of quality early care and education centers but as word spread about the program, people began to inquire how they could own their own "Legacy." The Turners began to franchise the schools in 1998 and now the organization has grown to 22 schools - 19 schools located in metro Atlanta and one each in Florida, Alabama and Tennessee.

"From the beginning, quality early care and education has been our focus," says Melissa Turner. "Our name and trade identity are synonymous with the highest end of the spectrum of educational facilities for children. We focus on aspects which leave parents with a feeling of confidence and pride in the choice they make to enroll their children." Legacy Academy, Inc. monitors and assists each individual franchisee so that a consistent look and feel of a positive, nurturing environment is recognized when parents visit any or all of the schools. Laura Johns, Ph.D. Director of Education adds, "we require all of our franchisees to submit for accreditation with the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) by their third anniversary. NAEYC is an independent organization based in Washington, DC, and is widely recognized as the foremost authority in early care and education in the country."
